Circulating supply

Circulating supply generally refers to the amount of a crypto asset considered available in the market under a provider’s methodology. Different data providers can use different definitions and sources.

Total supply vs maximum supply

Total supply can refer to coins or tokens already created minus certain permanently removed amounts, depending on the methodology. Maximum supply is a stated upper limit where one exists. Not every project has a fixed maximum supply.

Market capitalization

A common market-cap calculation is circulating supply multiplied by the quoted market price. This is a useful reference metric, but it does not mean that every unit could be sold at that displayed price.

Verify the source

Supply numbers can change or be revised. For important research, check the project’s technical documentation and compare reputable data sources. Do not treat a single dashboard number as unquestionable fact.
